Very impressive service + food. Came by a few Saturdays ago to catch up with a friend over lunch, everything was top-notch especially the food, very impressed. The new owner David had served us and recommended the chef specials, which I ordered the lamb cutlets with mash, and it was cooked to perfection. In fact its serving was perfect to leave enough stomach for dessert, which we all had their signature pancakes. would recommend to all, nothing disappointed and I can’t wait to visit again!
Change of new management recently and now call ‘New Aromas Cafe’.. New owner/chef Mr. David Lee has taken over the business recently and will change the name to New Aromas Cafe.He has vast experience hospitality sector and has spent his culinary journey through Europe and Asia. He has worked with some top chef in London( Michelin star), Four Season Hotel, Savoy Hotel London and Suvretta House in Switzerland. Also spent some time in Asia, done some pre-opening of new restaurants. Please come by to try out some fantastic food with excellent service and coffee and drinks to match.
I just have to say the waitresses were lovely…..BUT:1) our orders were wrong 3 times and had to be taken back and made again 2) the pancakes were so undercooked as to be inedible and when we told the staff they said they wouldn’t charge us for those but then the chef said he wouldn’t do that, that he would only give us half price off because he insisted they were fine, 3) We were going to be charged for an order we didn’t make,4) my son is now experiencing d&v from the pancakes. We have eaten many times at this cafe and felt that our loyalty deserved a little bit more understanding. When you don’t get the same respect we have shown them, and our regular patronage doesn’t seem to matter to them then we won’t be eating at aromas again. I guess there was a reason they were the only cafe in gymea that had tables free.
Top marks to aromas. 6pm on thursday night – busy but the service was excellent. greeted with a smile and sent off with a smile. food was yummy and well prepared. only criticism was that main meal arrived while we were still eating the entree so it cooled a little. i had very low expectations but was pleasantly surprised. ambience was also good. give it a try – you will like it!
