Wandering along King St trying to decide where to eat and we found this new tapas place. There were people everywhere. Lucky we managed to get a seat at the bar because this place is small and seating is limited. Jugs of red and white sangria were carried to nearly every table. It’s got to be one of the best sangria’s I’ve had. The chef was spilling out dishes everywhere….she just did not stop. The poor waitress was run off her feet as every table kept adding to their order. Like us people were testing a few of the dishes and when they tasted so good, they opted to order more. Traditional tapas, homely feel, spanish music in the background and delicious fresh food. They ran out of meatballs – disappointed – so I’ve ordered them for my next visit. The waitress recommended padron peppers – a seasonal Spanish mini capsicum – I’m glad she did. Boquerones melted in my mouth and the crunch in the fried flathead meant another glass of that delicious sangria. This place has only been open a couple of weeks but, if the word gets around [as I’m sure it will] they will be lining up along King Street for there morish dishes. Once most of the dishes were out the chef downed tools and called out across the restarant welcoming everyone, introducing herself and the waitress and told us to leave our email address on a sign in sheet so she could send us their regular newsletter and invite us to the opening party. We all cheered and were so pleased it was such a warm and friendly environment. This place is a must – especially if you’ve had enough of all the kebabs and Asian food in Newtown. Prices are really reasonable but no cards are accepted so we wandered up to the ATM to get cash.

Great to share a few dishes and sample the different flavours. went back again yesterday and had the stuffed zucchini, mussels and padron peppers that are on special this week. We asked for a double serve of mussels and a basket of bread to dip in the sauce. YUM! Try this out – down near Alice St end of King St.
