It was okay nothing special, below average Thai food in Sydney. Tofu Pad see ew was really sour and lacked a variety of vegetables (one piece of mushroom and 2 baby corn) same with the tofu stir fry however the flavours were good in that dish. Fish cakes were really nice though!

Considering Newtown is very competitive for Thai restaurants, Doytao is a great option. The quality and value for money is great – especially during lunch time.

Thai ninja!!Its rare for a business that runs over more than 10 year but this place lasted over 2 decades and going strong!!! Having over 6 venues all over Sydney … !!!Classic and fuision Thai food served at all of their venues, Newtown was the first place they built since 1996 were it began to grow and flourish!!My top picks are the BBQ boneless chicken, red curry (spicy), stuffed chicken wings, lady prawns springrolls, pad ki mao, pad thai, BBQ pork and their chicken satay !! Until next time … keep eating!!! asianfoodninja.com

Delicious Thai food.service was good and we could just walk in . Like such restaurants that dont have waiting lines and you dont have to make reservations. We had the chicken satay , stir fry chicken basil and veggies , salmon green curry and a fried black rice with veggies. We are always on the lookout for more authentic Thai food with more spice. While its difficult to always get it in Sydney , this did not disappoint

I ordered pad kra prao gai — the characteristically Thai dish of minced chicken with chilli and basil. What I got was something I’d expect from one of those Australianised Chinese restaurants in the back of a country pub. It had broccoli, heaps of onion, capsicum, even baby sweet corn. A few heads of basil and a sweet, gloopy, salty sauce. I am close to begging ‘Thai’ places to actually cook Thai food rather than catering to what my grandparents would have considered ‘very tasty’ food.

Used to be a regular here but it seems to have changed, having prices amped up and dishes completely change in flavour and appearance. Will still be visiting padstow franchise though.

The food here is generally quite good. However I just don’t understand why when you order pad see eew or pad thai and you choose the vegetarian option they penalise you by removing the egg and if you want the egg, you have to pay extra for it. So a noodle dish with no meat and just vegetables and an egg costs you more than if you ordered it with beef, chicken or pork, that comes standard with an egg.
