The beef was very thoroughly cooked and got quite chewy but at least there wasn’t much gristle. The bun had a sticky sugary glaze and the sauce seemed very sugary – the whole burger was sickly sweet like a Filipino burger. If you like that sort of thing, maybe it’s decent value at $14 for a thickish patty and bacon (no choice in that, only one burger on the menu) but I think a burger truck should be cheaper (they’ve taken over a cafe for the evenings but the eating area was so dirty that it should be judged like a truck – I’m seriously worried about the Conservatorium Cafe based on the cleanliness of their deck). There was a queue 10 minutes after opening but they do pump them out quick.
A match made in heaven, every now and then these two big Sydney players merge and create a fun night out. Rhodes is only up the road from me so i duck up to grab a takeaway burger but at LOF is a DJ and a really cool vibe! People come out of the woodwork to taste these burgers, which are worth the taste. The bun is thick but not too much bread, the patties are thick and well seasoned and that american cheese is my fav part!
