Came here for a late lunch and with the aim of trying the Northern Thai curry, but was blown away by the regular Thai dishes. The fried barra was great. Sauce was awesome and batter was so good that it honestly looked like fried chicken. Fried rice with crab actually had an ample amount of crab. Not pictured was the stir fried morning glory. On these 2 dishes, the Char, the taste, the texture, all great. What was underwhelming was the Northern Thai pork curry. It could’ve, or would’ve, or should’ve been better but it wasn’t. I had ignored it over the other 3 dishes. I could probably try another Northern Thai dish on another visit. Maybe

Went there last week. Asked for less spicy on the salad cz ive been there once and i knew their spicy level, quite disappointed, the dish is still very spicy. Tomyum seafood is flavoursome and appetizing.

I was craving for green curry chicken with vermicelli noodles (which is our Thai popular BASIC dish) so I decided to try this Thai restaurant near central station. The first bit that dissapointing me is the chickens had very BAD STRONG SMELL and Im pretty sure they used an EXPIRED CHICKENS! More than that the portion of vermicelli noodles given was very pity and the noodles were cut in very short (showing that the chef was very unskilled, even cooking noodles couldnt make it proper!!). Just an hour after having this dish I got diarrhea… and yes my assumption was exactly right that chickens is spoiled!!!! This would be my first and last time for this restaurant and strongly DISRECOMMEND all of you guys who want to have tasty Thai food, please SKIP THIS RESTAURANT and try many good ones nearby instead!

We always come here with my partner for delicious Thai food and nice cozy ambiance. Tables are a bit too close to each other, the place is pretty popular and always busy, no wonder why! Great food and value, large choice and everything is delicious. Unbeatable fried rice, perfectly cooked with the right amount of all the ingredients, complimented with cashew nuts.Different menu from other Thai restaurant – you will find something new here.Try the tasting plate with a little bit of everything! Some of the stuff do not really speak English, which adds authenticity 🙂 The only thing can be improve is the temperature of the beer, usually not cold enough.I was surprised people leave negative reviews here – do not belive them, food is really good here !

Very authentic Thai, very tasty. Great variety on the menu. I particularly love the noodles soup. The fried fish/chicken balls were alright. Definitely will go back again.

Tucked at the end of thai street, Cheng kitchen provides a great variety of your usual thai options along with a good assortment of tradtional noodles/soups including your usual tom yum and boat noodle, along with those not commonly found in Sydney such as guay jub and tom lerd moo. Majority of the noodles/soups come in two sizes, allowing you to get a main along with a small portion of their noodles on the side. The boat noodle soup was a standout to me. It provided a great punch of flavour like those served at chon siam thai but with less of a salty after taste. It was also not as peppery as ones you get from yok yor or spice I am. Tom yum was nice as well, reminded me of a spicy version of Taiwanese tan tan noodles. We got the soft shell crab som tum (papaya salad), salad was a bit bland but soft shell crab was nicely good. Portion of soft shell crab was great for the price ($14).Due to it being further from the other thai restaurants located on thai street, you shouldnt have a problem getting a seat on weekends, they provided BYO and service in general was great. Definitely a thai restaurant Ill go back to! Pro : Good choice of noodles and soups – Highly recommend getting a few of the small sized ones for variety. Good service and easy to get seats.Con : Som Tum salad was a bit bland, needed a bit more acidity and spice. Must get : Boat noodle. Tom yum soup.

Northern style pork n chilli sausage w sticky rice 3.75/5, one of the better asian sausage i have tasted out there, so fragrant so full of flavourful spices, wish i had ordered more. Never really like glutinous rice meself though a matter of personal preference. Noodles w soft bone pork 3.25/5, this was spicy hot though not overly so. Still got me worked up. Generous w minced meat n the soft bone with a sprinkling of delightful pork jelly (read: blood) and pork rind. Will be back to sample other stuffs if i am in the area..
