We intended to visit a Japanese restaurant but walked past this and couldn’t help but walk in. It was nice to try something different. The best dish was the fried chicken balls, which is another concept of popcorn chicken but better. Food tasted authentic and homely too. Would definitely come back and try other dishes.

Ordered the spicy potato noodle with minced pork and mushroom chicken noodle. We requested for least spicy and was warned it is still hella spicy, so make sure you dont go for it if you cant take the spice. The mushroom noodle on the other hand was superb! Love the broth, the different mushroom, the texture of the broad noodles, it is so good and yummy!

This is my favourite spot for Chongqing noodles especially the spicy noodles with beef. The spice is hot and peppery and gives the numbing feeling to your mouth which is very intense at the normal level. I prefer my noodles with a mild level of spice which you can request when ordering ( or wei la). The dry mixed noodles with minced pork and peas was also really good but you cant adjust the spice level in this one. Overall, service is fast and a great spot for a quick meal.

@DaintySichuan has been taking Melbourne food scene by storm and finally opened their first @Sydney branch. What attracted us to @DaintySichuanSydney was their hand-pulled noodles but sadly they weren’t available at the time.Chongqing spicy beef noodle soup was delicious, with the winning combination of chicken broth topped with chilli oil, Sichuan pepper, garnish of bok choy and tender braised beef. The concoction of spices was so perfect, creating an incredible aroma when the bowl arrived at the table! Wheat noodles were well-cooked and we could only imagine what it would be like with flat hand-pulled noodles.Pork wontons were plump with super silky skin and juicy filling. There was a lot of oil in the spicy soup so if you don’t like oily soups I’d recommend getting them in normal chicken soup and dip the dumplings in chilli oil instead.Spicy chicken were chopped into small pieces and had a good chilli kick. They tasted good but were mostly bones and not much meat. There is a selection of free drinks from 3-6pm, but you need to remind the staff when you place your order, otherwise they won’t proactively advertise it, which I find a bit sneaky and dishonest. instagram.com

Unfortunately, there was nothing express about our takeaway lunch order from Dainty Sichuan. Visiting on a Friday lunchtime, I concede that this is possibly one of the busiest trading periods for a city-situated restaurant, however, the place was chaotic and it took over half an hour for a single serve of Chongqing spicy noodles to be ready. Loved the noodles though and would eat there again, maybe just not during a weekday lunch.

Have walked past many times but never tried, but was suggested by someone who is China/Beijing and they highly recommended this place. Food was spicy though! So if you can handle your spice, the food was amazing. Very reasonably priced as well and easy to get a seat. We ordered 3 dishes between the 2 of us and I was very full from the meal.

Potato ninjaIf you crave for a nice spicy and numbing feeling then you need to visit Dainty Sichuan, it can get busy during peak lunch times so make sure you avoid it if you can waitDisappointed with the won ton with it’s lack of flavour inside the dumplings but the spicy potato noodles were so good and addictive but has a bitter after taste. asianfoodninja.com
