I like this DTF branch because it’s in a convenient location when we’re in the CBD and the food is consistent. Loads of tables and chairs so we never have to wait for long (for an early dinner). Service is quick too so we usually come here if we are in a hurry (before the movies). It goes without saying that I always order the Xiao Long Baos and I also like the noodles from here. My favourite is the shrimp and pork wonton noodle dipped in spicy sauce. I think the prices are reasonable considering it was awarded a Michelin star and it definitely lives up to its affordable Michelin reputation, unlike I’m sorry to say, Hawker Chan.

Busy place. Yummy dumplings. Love the Xiao long baos here. It is small and bite sized, yet plumped and full of soup and meat inside. The skin is thin and chewy and I love it when dipped in vinegar mixed with chilli and soy.

Din Tai Fung located in the World Square in Sydney appeared much more casual compared to Emporium in Melbourne. There were no white table cloth in sight. We ordered vegetarian dumplings, wonton soup, fried rice, vegetarian delight, Dan Dan noodles & water spinach with garlic. The vegetarian dumplings were as good as in Melbourne. The fried rice was less oily but the rice was slightly over cooked. The wonton soup had the same filling as the vegetarian dumplings. The Dan Dan noodles were bland. Overall an average yum cha experience compared to Melbournes Din Tai Fung in Emporium.

  • Quality! It Shouldnt Be That Hard! Love A Wonderful Mouth Full Of Wholesome FOOD!

I can here with my niece and best friend for a late night meal. I must say it food was ok, but not the best dumplings iv had. The xiao long bao was nice about it didnt seem like they where made on the premises. We also ordering spinach and garlic that was nice but not as nice as the ones with oyster sauce. We also had spring rolls and chicken dumplings and they tasted nice but nothing to rave about. We also had vegetarian dumplings but they where so bland it had absolutely no flavour The last thing I had I though it was custard but when I tried it it had a powdery taste. And when I ask the waiter what it was he said it was egg yolk and cream

Staff were friendly and welcoming . However , I felt the food was a bit too plain as I thought Din Tai Fung would be quite famous for their tasty dishes .

Cant go wrong with a Chinese feed on a sunny Sunday afternoon. The food was consistent, in terms of what you see on the menu is what you get. Signature dishes for this restaurant are the xiao long baos and dumplings which for me were delicious. The restaurant is spacious and clean. Staff was friendly and fast. If youre looking for a reasonably priced restaurant then this is the place to go to.
