Great food and coffee right by market city. Ive loved their OG shop down at Darlinghurst, so I wanted to check out their new branch. The smell of coffee perfumes the air but not overbearing. Monotone colours and basic decor must be their common theme throughout their cafes. Pancake – Otherworldly soft and fluffy, it was like eating a cloud.Piccolo – Great coffee with good acidity to cut through fat.Barley risotto – never knew that you could make risotto out of barley, and it comes out super tasty.Note the portion sizes are small but that is not so bad when you can try more dishes.
While we werent the biggest fans of the original edition coffee roasters, this new venture definitely is our kind of food: clean flavours, simple ingredients and personal flare. Yes the portions are definitely on the smaller side and definitely would recommend at least three if not four dishes between two people but its still reasonable given the prices. If anything for some its better, smaller portions means more things to try 🙂 Anyways, weve been here twice already and we will be back again in the near future.
This is a really nice Japanese brunch spot. The coffee is a must order and they offer oat milk for a non-dairy milk option! This tasted a bit unusual for me but the coffee otherwise with regular milk is really good. In terms of food, I had the pork katsu burger which was really yummy and the souffl pancake which was really soft and fluffy. The dishes were light and delicious but still very satisfying. The miso banana bread was also really good as it was not too sweet and perfect with coffee especially on the go.
New branch and addition to the cafe scene, the Japanese inspired menu offers a wonderful choice for brunch! Main reason to visit here would be for the Japanese Souffl Pancake. Light and fluffy with lots of folds, its topped with a strawberry compote and a cloud like cream. Definitely worth the 20 minute wait. Wonderful combination of flavours and textures. We also had the Pork Katsu which is served in a milk bun with slaw. Could do with more of a sauce but overall it was tasty. Coffee was a nice Brazilian blend today and highly recommend trying. Service was excellent too.
Had lunch at Edition today, one of the popular cafes on steam mill lane. My udon with pipi and XO sauce was really good! The udon was soft and has a slight chew. Had a taste of the chicken karaage and liked it too. Tasty! theengineereats.com
