We always get some emperor puffs while we are passing through Chinatown. This place may seem quite ordinary and hidden away but it is a true gem. Really cheap prices for such good emperor puffs. Theres always such a long line for these and thats already a clear sign that these are worth lining up for. If you havent tried emperor puffs before this place is a must go!
Pass this place -> saw a long queue -> join the queue.$0.35 for a really small cream puff! Fresh from the kitchen~ in my opinion it taste.. just okay! More than good less than delicious(?) my friend like it tho!
Saw a long line of people waiting at a hole in the wall window so joined the queue out of curiosity. The puffs were fresh, hot and delicious! The filling wasnt too sweet either so you can eat heaps of them! Had never heard of these before but seems to be a must-try in Sydney Chinatown!
Really nothing to complain about! Theyve raised the price over the years but its still considered reasonably well priced at 18 for $5. They are always fresh and the custard is nice and warm inside the soft cakey goodness.
I saw a big queue and decided to get in It’s actually a lady selling these puffs through a window. They’re made at the moment, never sit for too long because there’s always someone on the queue to buy it.So yummiiii!! Little puffs with egg cream inside! Not too sweet, just perfect!18 uni for $5
A hole-in-the-wall place in Chinatown, where they make custard puffs fresh to order, hence why there’s always a line. Great value for only $5 a box, and the custard is not too sweet, which suits my Asian palate.
For those who are curious about that crazy queue that never ceased to exist, this place only sells one thing: custard puffs. They are not crumbling pastry puffs, more like a ball of sponge cake (of a more elastic texture) with custard filling. Probably only good when they’re fresh and warm out of the oven, once they cool down they start to collapse. Not too sweet and probably explains why it’s widely accepted. Give it a go, it’s very good value.
