Definitely a hidden gem in a food court. Ordered ribs ramen, garlic ramen and topped up for bowl of toppings. Soup base was so thick. But it was definitely an enjoyment slurping those noodles in the thick broth. I prefer thick noodles but to be honest, not a big difference.
After hearing so much about the best ramen in Sydney, I finally got the chance to try the famous gumshara ramen. I had been warned about the thick broth so was expecting something a bit different to traditional ramen broth. I ordered the original with pork tonkatsu ramen ($12) whilst my other half ordered the same but with double meat. I saw the broth was thick and didnt move much when you got your bowl. I can only describe the broth was like a gravy. It wasnt as flavoursome as other broths but at the same time, there were so many complex flavours as the broth had been boiling for hours. There is a sign up that says they dont use any MSG and hence why there was less salt in the broth compared to other ramen and as a bonus I didnt feel thirsty afterwards! I like this ramen but have to say you need to be in the mood for it as it is quite filling.
The heartiest, spiciest, and downright most satisfying ramen I’ve had in Australia. It was so good that i didn’t care that it was the middle of summer. I would definitely recommend giving this a go if you’re ever in Sydney.
Authentic tasting thick Ramen broth! We had these during a chilly rainy night. And the serving is generous, it’s enough to share with a companion.
Gumshara is my favourite ramen joint in Sydney. I go for the pork rib ramen regularly but about once every six months, I take on the challenge of the super mega ramen. I am always a dismal failure as I have never actually finished it but I have gotten close. The ramen stock at Gumshara is the thickest, heaviest stock I have had anywhere. I have a number of friends who feel it is actually too thick but I think its great! The only criticism is from time to time, it can get just a bit too salty as it was this time. The super mega ramen is a monster bowl. I have seen some people polish it off easily but for me, it is a challenge I have yet to conquer. Love it!
Best Japanese ramen in Town!! This little shop hidden at the back of a food court in Chinatown is serving an amazing ramen. I always get my ramen thick (they give you the option thick or not) and the taste is just incredible. The lady at the counter is very kind and always smiling.
