I really love this place!! It’s so central and the view from inside the place it’s beautiful!! I took a flat white coffee and a classic banana bread, both delicious!! And have a great attention, i’ll go back for sure!
This place is so central you couldn’t be anymore in the heart of the city then here! The menu focuses on a mix of classic faves without being too overly dramatic because of the mix of local area workers and international guests it caters for from the next door hotel. But in saying that, keeping things simple and doing them well speaks volumes! You can see this from their lunch specials (ie. Thai Beef Salad, Chicken Schnitzel, Fish & Chips, Caesar Salad) which comes with a free soft drink or juice easy and convenient for a quick lunch or a budget conscious traveller.We opted for the BEEF BURGER Grilled Premium Beef pattie, bacon, egg, carmelised onion, tomato, lettuce, beetroot, pineapple, cheddar, BBQ sauce served with a Chipotle Salad and fries. Very nicely presented. We asked for an extra patty and the Chef was very accommodating! The SIRLOIN STEAK with steamed veg and potato was cooked on point as requested medium to well and there was a really good side serve of gravy to drench that meat into! I like places like this, it doesnt have to be overly done just done right and these guys do!Capping things off for dessert we got the CHOC BROWNIE and PANCAKES with STRAWBERRY & MAPLE, both served with Ice Cream again another oldie but superbly done. The gooey brownie and real chunks of nut as you bite through and the pancakes not overcooked and bathing in a base of syrup are the perfect end note to the old school meat fest. Nice little cafe right near Central station and attached to the backpackers. Standart hearty breakfast fare – avg cafe lunch. The Next Rush ordered the sirloin and I got the beef burger. Brownie and pancakes to share for dessert were amazing. Presented lovely. Staff were great.
I usually have the Bacon & Egg Roll sandwich for breakfast which is always the perfect morning wake up call! But I was feeling a little adventourous today and had a bit of extra time. The Ricotta Pancakes are so good! I had fresh banana and strawberry and it was perfect! Service was great and wait times not too bad! Plan to explore the menu more after that gamble paid off! hahaha
Probably in shortage of servants, no one came to serve when we first in. That was OK but unchewable steak in beef salad was something I couldn’t stand, almost full of sinewy.
Nice place, great location 🙂 Good value meals. We always get off at Central station and walk just next door to the caf. It is a convenient location for everyone.
As I write this review, I have not had the food at incafe just yet. I’ve stayed close to the cafe and frequented it for the coffee and the atmosphere. The coffee has been fairly standard, nothing to rave or complain about so far.I will note that this place has been very convenient for accessing wifi and getting a bit of work done when needed. It has also been pretty enjoyable to read a book or just relaxing to kill a bit of time and enjoy the day. It closes at a pretty decent hour so it’s a great place to wind down and have a coffee and dessert after dinner.
