The venue is somewhat sombre; situated alongside the light rail line opposite the Capitol Theatre, the view from the window is blocked by the outside neon sign creating a very closed in feeling. We had the Chashu Ramen (Original chashu with pork belly ramen in tonkatsu base and served with black fungi, bamboo shoots, shallots and a half boiled egg) and Tan tan ramen (spicy miso base ramen with pork mince). You can upgrade to a combo for an extra $6.50 and choose a side of yakitori, beef skewers, chicken or pork marsh, gyoza, takoyaki or salmon sashimi but with a reduced serving size which isnt disclosed on the menu (we received five pieces of salmon sashimi instead of the regular six slices). The karaage chicken bento offers a good variety with rice, salad, spring rolls and sausage, as well as miso soup.

Cute little place with cramped seating. Service is friendly and efficient but the ramen was unfortunately below average at best. I had the cha shu ramen which was a daily special ($10.95 instead of $13.95) on a Tuesday evening. The pork was a generous portion but the majority of it was fat; there was so much fat that I barely ate it. The broth tasted nice enough but was extremely watery. The egg was cold and looked like it was cooked a while back. The noodles were only slightly better than instant noodles. There are a lot of choices in the area so I was surprised that it was full on a Tuesday evening. I might come back and order something else but I definitely won’t be getting the cha shu ramen again.P.S My companion had the chicken teriyaki ramen but did not enjoy his meal either. The chicken teriyaki was very crispy to begin with but became soggy quickly and it also had quite a bit of fat on it.
Was looking for a quick bite on a Monday night and the thought of ramen on a cold winter’s night was attractive. However, we were disappointed with the food here – the broth was very watery and and the whole thing tasted very bland even with the chashu topping. Sorry, I cannot recommend this place for ramen.
