8/10 A cheap and hearty meal in Central. One noodle soup with 2 sides and one drink only for $11.50The soup was really flavourful and the beef inside was super tender. The meatball (sides) was nice and spicy too same as the pork cracklings which was crispy yet have a sour and spicy taste at the same time. grabandbites.com
I read 3 google reviews prior to coming here and all of them used a groupon voucher (as i will do as well). They all commented the service here was bad. So i expected that when i came, and what do you know, there was only one lady serving for a dining area for about 40 patrons from what i can see. No wonder its bad. I had the chicken pad see ew $8.9, fishcake and pinky milky drink. The dish was nicely cooked, out came a spring roll which they lied about not having any more fishcakes? The drink never came. Might i point out that the food took close to 15 mins to come out. Had to go to the counter to get the drink and the lady apologised for it being busy. Mate, its busy because you guys aint hiring more staff, trying to save money, cutbacks and all. Its all just thai customers here too, so not many people know about it. Its the city, look elsewhere for thai food.
They have someone out on George St selling prepackaged takeaway boxes for $5. I tried this at first and found this not value for money as it was mainly rice with a little bit of chicken and heaps of green curry sauce. I did however decide to give this another go and dine in downstairs. I opted to choose from the premade food (3 choices for I think $8.50 from memory). The fried chicken was tasty and still crunchy although covered in a sweet & spicy sauce. The other 2 dishes were not too bad. My friends dish looked slightly different compared to the picture, there seemed to be more duck on the picture compared to what was actually served. This place is huge and they should try to offer more usual lunch specials like other Thai places around the corner (eg: curries, noodles & soups for under $10) to remain competitive and also cater for lunchtime workers and students.
Not buffet Hotpot anymoreNo sushi train eitherUsual dining Hall, only special is music band with singer starting at 5 pmHot pot soup comes only one plain soup, not dual with spicy. Anyway, my partner enjoyed there and gave a handful tips
Not that much sushi and should have more ice cream flavour anyway it was so good and will go back again. Good price and good service for refilling our soup
A different experience,it’s like Korean BBQ mixed with Chinese hotpot! In sushi train form! The broth I think there is only two, spicy tom yum or plain broth. The plain broth was enough for us,and the food cooked quite quick. I wish though they had more fish balls type choicesThe non hot pot food, sushi is ok but I like best is the spring rolls and the fried won tons, which has quail egg in them, very nice! There is a time limit though to eat It’s location would be the main negative for this place, hard for car park and it’s downstairs between subway and mad mex,but opposite central station I used one of those internet vouchers to come here so I don’t know how much it really costs Want to try something different! Come here then!
Knowing a friend has its perks (especially when their parents own a share in a restaurant). Friend invited us to celebrate the opening of this restaurant. Ignoring the discount, the fusion between a hotpot and a sushi train was a creative idea.Combining two very unique restaurant styles to provide one that satisfies two types of cravings. Enjoyed the pad thai and pad see eew! Service could be a little more attentive, but it’s a growing restaurant! 🙂
