When I moved to Sydney, trying to find options to eat near office, came across Mamak ( you pronounce it as Mama BTW). When I tried for the first time, immediately hooked to the taste. Since then I’ve had numerous visits everytime I had cravings for spicy seafood. Service is always affable and if I’m lucky I would get a seat in 5 min otherwise need to stand in a long line.Mamak has become such an iconic place, it is one of the must visits for anyone who travels to Sydney ( most of the people who come here are tourists ). Everytime my order is served, I’m too excited to eat and that is why only 2 photos .Wanted to share this as this place has become my go to lunch spot and want to appreciate them for what they are doing.
My favourite Malaysian place in Sydney! There is a reason why there is always a queue outside, its so tasty and authentic! My fave is the roti canai, you can see them making it fresh from the window. I love how it is so crispy and flakey, I always otdetMy own as I dont share! The mi foreng noodles is also a favourite as well as the nasi lemak rice combination. Great authentic Malaysian food here, always a favourite!
Been coming here for years. Its a bloody long wait sometimes with a line right up Goulburn St but watching the chefs toss & stuff the different rotis in the window is entertaining & helps pass the time. All the rotis are great, and the murtabak is awesome. Noodles are the bomb. Not so mad about the fried chicken or the prawn sambal. Try the ginger teh tarek. Traditional Malaysian Long-poured tea. Its great!
