Royal Pavilion is a rather grand Chinese restaurant with several private rooms and outstanding service for those rooms (top tip: no minimum spend when we were there on a Sunday night). We never had to request for more water or tea; dirty cutlery and dishes were diligently cleaned up and replaced. Highlights were the cold poached chicken with special chilli sauce, the fresh pipis with fried noodles and xo sauce and the succulent fresh oysters in ginger and shallot sauce. Probably the best xo pipis in town actually. We also had the salt and pepper squid, the seasonal vegetables with fermented tofu clay pot, deep fried pork ribs with garlic which were alright. Prices are definitely on the high side even for the non-seafood items. Not sure if I’d return soon given that most of the food was pretty average and the abundance of similar restaurants nearby at more reasonable price points.
