The primary decision in rating The Dessert Kitchen is whether it was a 1 or a 2. That is, was it just bad or abysmally bad. Ive landed on a 2 but I think it was worth about a 1.5. I think what really did it was the mango pudding. On the menu, it looked really good. It reality, it was some outsourced jelly that came in a plastic cup that had some cream on top. The other dessert (as pictured) wasnt bad but it certainly wasnt great either. Honestly, it cant be that hard!
+3 standard points for food-1 overpricedTotal 2: underwhelmingThis cafe looks really cute from the outside! And the desserts look pretty cute and generally taste okay. (You can only go so wrong)The flavours in the parfait ($8) were a bit odd, (cookies & cream with mangoes and… cornflakes?) and I was a bit disappointed that it came in a plastic cup thats kinda small too. Ive been here a few times and thats generally the standard. Its a bit pricey for what you get, but not a bad cafe to sit and relax in.The ube soft serve ($4, special menu) was delicious though.
