May be this place has very nice dishes for dinner but yum cha was pretty average so I didnt even bother with the photos. We arrived as a party of 7 and were seated fairly quick. We were quite pleased with the range of dim sum. The problem came actually from staff selecting for us. They literally placed food on your table before they even tell you what they are. They were so pushy (not sure if they get paid commission?) that they put down food that you didnt order. And one staff also poured sauces from the dish all over my bag…. -_-

Friday around 1pm. It was quiet busy but we were led to our table straight away. The food is good, fresh and well balanced. The service is prompt. The only down side is the restaurant is really big so the carts may not get to you. But allIn all would come back

The eight modern Chinese restaurant in Chinatown. We came in the lunch time for yum cha. The food was tasty but not too surprising. It was called the best yum cha in Chinatown and seems just average. Not my favourite yum cha experience stevengufoodtravelology.godaddysites.com

Absolutely huge restaurant which packs hundreds of people. Heaps of options for yumcha which is great as you get to try a variety of dishes. We ordered all kinds of seafood, dumplings, vegetables and soups. All the food is reasonably fresh (you cant expect a yum cha restaurant to be as fresh as an ala carte restaurant though). Its also very noisy inside so not that suitable for intimate gatherings.

We had a farewell yumcha lunch at the Eight. It was quite wondrous as plates of food just magically appeared on our table as soon as we sat down – all at once! I think we didnt even order half of them lol having said that, food was yummy and reasonably priced. Everyone enjoyed themselves! theengineereats.com
