The Light Horse Hotel Murrumburrah

About

The Light Horse Hotel is the oldest trading hotel in the Twin Towns of Murrumburrah - Harden. First built in 1861 to Victorian tradition with small refurbs maintaining her until Karen Kemp & Rhys Gray undertook a major refurbishment in October 2018 bringing her into the 20th century. The Light Horse Hotel has been lovingly restored to retain its original features such as the high ornate ceilings, the beautiful brickwork has been exposed in the main bar and the Gin & Whiskey rooms. Hidden fireplaces have been uncovered and once heavily carpeted floorboards exposed. Three bathrooms and twelve guest rooms have been upgraded upstairs to cater for guests staying in the hotel. The restoration has showcased the Victorian heritage of the building with the fit out reminiscent of the era but with a contemporary styled edge. The Light Horse Hotel was named to commemorate the birthplace of the 1st Australian Light Horse at Murrumburrah.
