Located in Homebush, Thousand Spices is one of the most popular restaurants in the area. It’s certainly one of the more well known Indian restaurants with plenty of my friends and colleagues recommending the place to me. Now I have passed the restaurant a number of times, and every time I do, I see how full it is compared to the other restaurants along the same street – definitely a good sign!
Away from home you struggle to find food that is actually close to what home food is. They serve real indian food with the proper indian taste. Completely authentic. We had the papdi chaat. It was great! It was loaded with the right amount of everything. The non veg thali is a must have but please remember the quantity is a lot more than what you will be able to handle. It’s a perfect meal for 2 people with average appetite. The staff is friendly and the service is fast.Ambience 3/5Staff and service 5/5Food 5/5Quality 5/5Quantity 4.5/5Value for money 4.5/5Spread 4/5
We had a disappointing experience with their delivery and realised they made us spend full price on dishes FILLED with onions. 20 dollars for murgh tikka masala and it only had 4 small pieces of chicken we could barely distribute and big chunks of onion we thought was chicken. The same happens with the capsicum onion and paneer dish where they put mainly onions. I realised quickly they are skimping our on more expensive ingredients that we paid for and filled it up with the cheaper ones. Be careful when u order takeaway or delivery from here. To be honest the past few experience in restaurant and at home have been very disappointing and I am no longer a supporting customer.
