Absolutely ridiculous service. Total disregard for the customer. We booked few weeks in advance to have a dinner there, only to arrive and told they don’t have the capacity to serve us. At least they could have had the audacity to call. Food may be cheap for the price but the wait is not worth it.
Top notch restaurant. One of the best in Sydney. You come here when you want to feast like a king. Yes, the customer service is bad but for the price its still decent.
We phoned at 4.30pm to place a take-away order. We asked if we could pick up around 5.30pm. Staff advised that it will be ready at 6.30pm.We arrived at 6.30pm expecting our order to be ready, the staff told us they have not yet started cooking. No apologies offered.Went elsewhere and got our food in 15 mins with a smile. We do not recommend this restaurant even though food suppose to be good.
This is the 2nd time I have visited at dinner time. This place has a few pluses with a few negatives, which one is the dominant factor is unclear Positives: Cheap Cheap Cheap Large portions Parking isn’t too badPretty nice food but also depends what you order. My latest visit they didn’t have any fried chicken do no Shang Tung chicken or crispy skin chicken. Garlic chicken ,vermiceilli vegetable hotspot were nothing much,in fact a little disappointing in taste The fresh fish was quite nice, the sauce it comes with was lovely The fried stuff, pork rib sweet and sour and fried calamari was nice but what fried food isn’t Negatives: Slow slow service,it took at least 30 mins before anything to come to the table,I was told that it’s just a family run restaurant and that’s why they lack staff Self service refilling your tea Very cramp,in fact I had to sit on a small stool Walking past the kitchen you might have second thoughts about coming back At night it’s often busy so if you don’t book you might be waiting a long time And with a lot of people it can get noisy For the time being I’m staying on the positive size for this place. If I come back I may change my mind
This review has been a long time coming as I honestly could not get off the fence. I have a love hate relationship with this place but have been more times than I can count, so an above average score is well deserved. My family have been regulars since this restaurant first opened and frequent it so often we call it ‘the canteen’. Prices are ridiculously cheap for the portion sizes they plate up. So big in fact, they’ve had to upgrade takeout containers to the biggest polystyrene variety. Flavours are authentic and consistent, which are true compliments to the chef. The set menus are usually the way to go, however, beware if you go as religiously as we do, that it will get boring very quickly. Unfortunately due to their ‘honest’ cooking, it is packed most nights and in such a small space, is an absolute nightmare for anyone with claustrophobia. Noise levels can also reach extreme frequencies. The small space is sadly reflected in the kitchen, which results in extended wait times on delivery of food. For this reason, go with people you are comfortable having long conversations with, as it might get a little awkward otherwise. Service is apathetic at best, and when it gets busy, there might be greasy residues noted on tables from earlier patrons. Love to hate yet hate to love this place!
Massive portions for reasonable prices. Been frequenting this small restaurant with lengthy waiting periods and also a long wait for food to come out… However it is always worth it as the food delivered is fresh and authentically Cantonese. Cheap but comes with a wait..
Must know secret password to eat here. Wei Lee came highly recommended and since we live just 2 suburbs over, we decided to give it try. We were warned that the place was small and got crowded quickly to the point the owner would turn you away. All the more we wanted to try their food. We tried a few times to eat there.or order take-out, and all times we were told they were busy. We tried going there or calling at different times to avoid the busy periods- 530pm, 8pm, 830pm. No difference, we were always told they were busy, no order.Today we went there again. 3 full tables, 2 tables with reserved sign (funny that the one time I called to make booking I was – you guess it- turned away) and 1 empty table. The lady gestured to us that – you guess it- we’d be turned away. We give up. Guess we’re not part of the secret society who could eat there.
