Restaurant was packed and loads of take away orders kept the kitchen really busy so they were a little slow. Originally meant to be going to Oki Oki a few doors down but they were closed for the holidays. Japanese beers were $6.50 which was a pleasant surprise. Good value Tempura Bento with miso soup for $25, very fresh.

Menu could get really expensive especially its main and bento boxes. They cost as much as or more expensive than what you could get at Yayoi (The Galeries Victoria, CBD). Food was okay. If you’re after decent Japanese food at the same price or less, I wouldn’t recommend this place. They should consider charging less to make it worth its price.
Relative expensive place to eat in. However, quality and quantity of the food justify the price.Customer service was ok, but there is only 1 waitress and you can wait for quite a bit if it happens to be busy.
Really hard to find great food in Hornsby so pleasantly surprised by the food at Soto.Great atmosphere with open kitchen.Service was amazing without being pretentious.Food was absolutely fabulous.The agedashi tofu was the best that I have eaten and the rest of the menu was just as good.The portion size was very reasonable and well presented.This is now my new place to eat!
We had dinner in this place. We are happy with food. We order salmon teriyaki bento box and chicken karage bento box. The portion is big. It is worth it for 25 dollar. Definetly will go there again to try other foods!
