I had the Italian style baked eggs which had a really good pasatta and mushrooms. However, the eggs were VERY disappointing. One had the yolk fully cooked and had numerous EGG SHELLS in the egg. The sourdough wasn’t very good quality either.
Came here for a quick lunch with a friend today. The Refinery is definitely a small cafe, with a few tables inside and a couple outside. We ordered the Fettuccine Boscaiola, a toasted Chicken cheese and tomato sandwich, two freshly squeezed juices and a large plate of chips. The food was good and came out pretty quickly, and of decent portions. Fairly good price, we paid about $20 each for our food and drinks so I was happy. The service was decent, nothing over the top or amazing but good. Will come back if I’m in the area.
Staff are nice and coffee is good but the food is straight out of 1995. Salad was just splashed with tons of balsamic. Veggies were cooked to mush. I would come back for coffee but wouldn’t eat here again.
The food was very simple, nothing that would be very different than if you were to do it at home.. the poached eggs were so full of water that the bread was soaked.. staff kindly changed it when we told them. Overall disappointing, but staff and coffee were good.
Small pocket shop in the west side of Horsnby with excellent coffee and very friendly staff. Regulars as me love it! Owner is around and he is very attentive
A gem in small packaging! A simple cafe with lots to boast about. Staff is super friendly. The food is good too. I tried the chicken sandwich and cold coffee. They are willing to customise just the way the customer likes it. Would definitely go back again.
