I had gone to this cafe a number of times after I moved, when I was younger, i used to catch up with friends in my early 20s the owner was the most nicest person. She used to charge my dead phone. I left the area, few years past and I came back. Each time being more negative than the next. But the most recent experience was the topping for me. Previous times I had actually felt I was being charged higher. This time round I calculated the amount. Hubby goes and pays the bill, and we walk out. I asked how much was it.it was much higher than my calculation. They overcharged us, so we went back. They had the audacity to put the blame on us and said that because we moved tables, the order was wrong. Needless to say, we moved tables PRIOR to ordering. So I’m not sure what she meant it was our fault. Seriously, worst service ever. And now each time I walk past I get angry. What sort of Hunan being is she?? Unfortunately that is the only cafe in Westfield that is internal to get out of the rush that sells food. I kept coping the crap service and low quality food for a period of time. But that day was the last straw.
Food was very delicious. The eggs benedict with mushroom i ordered was very nice and filling. Also the breakfast bruschetta my aunty ordered was a surprising big serving. Service was good and friendly. Maybe next time i would come and try out their other dishes.
Everytime im at Westfield my favourie lunch stop. Food here is always good never been disappointed. Service is fast always busy. Had the chicken cesar salad with a side of chips yum . Having the sourbread with smashed avocado fetta cheese and poached eggs ive added extra bacon an extra sour dough lovely breakfadt to start the day this place ce never disappoints
Rarely do I enjoy a visit to the ‘hallowed’ (by some) food court quarters. Maddies cafe is an exception. I have enjoyed every visit here. The coffee is decent and the food is quite lovely! I would recommend both the banana bread and the sandwiches.
Bad customer service. Came to this place a while ago with my dad. His English isn’t what I would call fluent, but it is understandable with a bit of an accent. The owner, was straight up rude and being a big B**** to us, my dad especially. No smile, no greeting or acknowledgement when she saw us come in, just a big fat stare and look away. when it came to the bill it was the same expressionless and crappy attitude. But hey maybe it was one of her bad days. I came back again today thinking my experience would be better. I ordered a Cappuccino and scrambled eggs on toast with sausage. There was so much chocolate powder on the coffee that when I tried to take a sip It felt like I was sipping on powder. Then the food came. Presentation wise It didn’t look very appetising. Thought I was probably over critical so I took a pic and showed my friend, he agreed. Sausages happened to taste exactly the same as the beef sausages from Coles/Woolworths , which isn’t a big deal. The eggs; they were so slimy it felt like I was eating raw egg whites, also under seasoned. As I was waiting in line to pay the bill, the owner who I encountered from my previous negative experience was serving the customer in front of me, who was also paying the bill. No smile, no nothing. Just seemed like she wanted to get rid of us asap. the overall service is appalling. Food, I can’t say for everything but from what I’ve had from there, I probably won’t be going back.
Good location if you want to get away from the busy food courts. Menu offers a lot of choice. Service is very disappointing. Food dumped at the edge of table rather than in front of customers. Also very rude when going to pay bill . Crockery is scratched and chipped. Food very lacklustre and presentation is poor. Had fish and chips which were over fried and like cardboard and significantly overpriced considering it didn’t even come with salad or a garnish. My friend had wedges that were not cooked through and very few on plate considering the price. Won’t be going back.
It may be the presence of a benevolent higher power that’s kept me from patronising this place every time I’m in the area. Last week however, I wasn’t so lucky. For reasons beyond my control I found myself sitting on a hard-as-a-rock wooden booth underneath its hospital-grade cold fluorescent bulbs nibbling at what was the saddest eggs Benedict I had ever seen, along with the Soup Of The Day at $9, which I had found upon tasting, that it’d be pretty crap day as quite a few cans of Campbell’s chicken & corn soup was left in the pantry and needed to be used NOW.Avoid like the plague, or at least until the owner/s learn how to run a hospital… I mean cafe.
