My sister & I ventured out for a Snister Dinner, & as we noth love Indian food, we decided on Anki’s on Waratah St in Katoomba. We’re both mountains locals but had never been there before. We chose from the vegetarian options & were not disappointed! The pakeer pakoras & samosa chat were divine as entrees. She chose aloo kofta curry as her main & loved it. I went with my favourite of aloo gobi & it was one of the best I’ve had. Add in poppadums & naan & it was an amazing banquet with leftovers for lunch.Great atmosphere. Lovely staff. Super busy so go early or book.
We went to Anki for dinner. I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant unless you have no other choice. One of the staff ( who looks like the owner) is just so arrogant, she treated us as if she’s giving us a free treat)We ordered chicken tikka and chicken vindaloo. Both didn’t taste as authentic as we use to eat in any other indian restaurants. It was so watery and tasteless. The portion is too small compared to any other restaurant for $16.90.Definitely not worth trying. Don’t waste your time & money.
We were backpacking in Katoomba and were very hungry at 9 pm. Most of the places close by that time. We had spotted this place, but when we went in, they said its closed but fortunately take away was open. We ordered dal makhani, matar paneer and shahi subzi with naans and rice. It was good considering we were in Blue Mountains. But the naans were not properly made. Shahi subzi had loads of mushrooms ( I don’t like mushrooms).
A real indian restaurant, in the sense of what you could find in India. The food was EXCELLENT. Absolutely recommended but only if you can stand the frying curry smell and the smoke coming from the kitchen. It is a pity that the interior is well below average.
Amazing. As good if not better than our local favorite Mishra’s in Melbourne! We are rapt that we called in here for a sunday night curry the food was sensational and it was great to have a chat with the owner, lovely lady. Perfect dinner post the north face 100! Highly recommend
