Pies – amazing. The lentil and vegetable was really filling and satisfying with great buttery pastry. Custard tarts – amazing. The custard was a standout – really strong vanilla flavor, smooth and sweet. Apple pies – amazing. Filling was jammy and delicious. A must-visit whenever we are in the Mountains!
Passed by this bakery while visiting Katoomba and decided to takeaway a slice cake. There’s a good selection of baked goods available…i tried the chocolate hazelnut cake and it was nice and moist.
A small bakery located on Katoomba Street (main thoroughfare) with pies, breads, and cakes for sale. Closing time was looming so quickly picked up a Pear & Apple Cake With Fresh Lemon Icing. It had a nice crumb to it and the icing gave it a bit of zing. Wasnt too much of a fan of the dried fruit studded within but easily rectified by pulling them out! Service was friendly.
Delicious chunky beef pie with flaky pastry. I have returned and made peace with the Blue Mountains pie situation. A few years ago I was served a pie with raw pastry at Bakehouse on Wentworth and got a very unfriendly response when I asked for a replacement. I searched for quality pie experience this time and found it at Hominy. Thank you for the top draw pie – i had to leave quickly before I loaded up with sweet pastries. The apple and rhurbarb turnover was hard to turn away from – it looked delicious.
