Tonight we dined at Katoomba Canton Palace. We went around half past five for an early dinner to avoid the weekend crowd. We were pleased to find it easily accessible with dedicated parking. The dining room was spacious. Service was attentive. They have a large menu of dishes available on the menu. The Pork Buns were exceptional as was Mongolian Beef, and Duck with Plum Sauce. Cocktail was good and Chinese Beer was also available.
After many years of looking like the 1990’s the ever reliable Katoomba Canton Palace has recently had a fresh lick of paint and a general spruce up. Popular with locals and tourists by the bus load, KCP is great for a quick dine in or take away. The Singapore Spicy Softshell Crab, and the Salt and Pepper Sqid are regular musts. Short walk from the main Katoomba Street area and plenty of onsite parking.
Cheap decor but ignore that and enjoy an upmarket Chinese cuisine with traditional and European style cooking. We Highly recommend this underrated Katoomba restaurant.
Decent Asian food. Tasty steamed dim sims were a great entree however the vegetarian dumplings lacked flavour. The Mongolian beef and fried rice were a highlight for mains.
Nice family chow feed and reasonably priced
