What an amazing find!!! I absolutely rate this place for authentic Malaysian Penang food. As someone with Malaysian heritage I have been missing some Malaysian style food in Sydney. And of all places, it was in Katoomba that this gem is located. We also bought a neinish tart and Florentine tart for dessert to take away. Hot steaming laksa on a cold night was superb. The rendang was also spot on.Service was prompt and I enjoyed having some home style comfort food. Will definitely be back here next time in the Blue Mountains.
Oh my. I think this place has the best curry pies I’ve ever had! We had the Malaysian Beef pie (spicy) and the Thai chicken pie (mild). Coffee was also good and the curry puffs were yummy too.
Agree with all the reviews below. Best Penang style Malay food in katoomba. It is a hidden gem in the street filled with fancy named restaurant serving disaster on the plate. Everything about the place is so warm and fresh(coming from a chef!) A very unique place experience. It is a patisserie that is food cafe in the morning, great dining place in the night and good looking cake and desserts round the day. I will definitely eat there when I am even passing by katoomba next time.
Unique by name, unique by nature. I don’t think I’ve ever dined anywhere that serves pies and cakes made on-premise alongside authentic Malaysian cuisine. But that’s what you get here, and surprisingly, all the food is sensational.I’ve tried a few of the bakeries and bread shops along the main drag in Katoomba and I believe this establishment offers the best pies in town. Plus, they’re very reasonably priced. A sausage roll will set you back just $2.50 and the most you’ll pay for a pie is $4.50. You’ll find all your favourites, from steak, chicken and mushroom and shepherds pie to the more unusual vegetarian green curry pie. And this is for dine-in. (Cash only)There are wedding cakes in the front window display, and you’ll find a wonderful counter display of delicious cakes and pastries – vanilla slice, chocolate tarts, rocky road slice, baked cheesecake plus lots to keep the kids happy, like smartie studded cookies and animal themed meringues. If you’re lucky, you’ll see the chef preparing the cakes and pastries in the open kitchen. As well as a lunchtime meal of pies and dessert, I’ve also enjoyed an Asian dinner here with satay chicken and laksa.A favourite place to eat when in the Blue Mountains.
The best Malaysian restaurant in town. Not only they serve savoury foods but they also have dessert bar selling cakes and coffee. Must try : Bak Kut Teh & Nasi Lemak. I’m always coming back here every time I visit Katoomba 🙂
