Ive enjoyed every experience that I have had at Makimoto, Kellyville. In the past Ive bought the seaweed udon, beef udon, and various sushi rolls, all of which were delicious and Ive purchased on multiple occasions. The pricing is fair considering the sheer freshness of the food Im receiving – Ill never get another sushi roll just the same as the ones Ive gotten here. Its also not a totally casual dining area and the food youre given is high quality, like Tokio Fans in Norwest – high priced but high quality (although tokio fans is much more expensive than makimoto!!) Ill continue to come back here and would recommend it to anyone

Had soft shell crab salad, seafood udon and katsu combo.Had one word for this place. Overpriced.I was amazed at how small the portion was-literally had 3-4 pieces of crab cut up in the salad,the plates and bowl were small,katsu combo however was a decent size.The quality of the food wasn’t great, nothing special really.The noodles in the udon was a disappointment, came out overcooked :/I don’t intend on going back.
Dropped by this new area and since mum and I missed lunch we decided to take the whole family here for dinner. Excited by the menu, we ordered 3 entrees, 3 sushi dishes, 3 main dinners, and 1 kids meal. The waiter repeated our order and soon our meals started arriving (7:15). Entrees, kids meal, sushi, and 2 main meals. The table next to us who ordered way after we did started getting their meals. When asked about the final main, the waiter went back inside to check up and said 2 minutes. We waited longer and my sister decided to go inside and ask again. STILL not ready. This main meal was RAW salmon carpaccio. It needed not to be cooked – only to be prepared. How is it possible for this dish to take THAT LONG? Again, we waited, and being very agitated and pissed off, when the waiter came to the table with the dish, I told him I did not want to be charged for this meal. The manager soon arrived to the table and she was literally speechless when I was trying to explain that it was not right for me to get my meal more than 20 minutes (7:40) after my family had already eaten, and being in customer service myself, it’s their responsibility to check that every order was sent to the table, even after being asked where the last dish was. She did not understand a word I was saying! She was literally just staring at me and unable to communicate to me properly. I understand that people make mistakes but being a manager, she did not understand my frustration and nothing else was offered. I left hungry, pissed off, and disappointed because I really looked forward to eating here.
Been here a couple of times now with a big group and a small group and I have to say it is a pleasant surprise, it’s a small shop but the sashimi is fresh and they do a good tempura! The batter is not too thick as some other places do it. The food is very reasonably priced and they do lunch specials too. Glad to have found another local sushi and sashimi place!
