Ole has dropped off a bit in the last year or two, but the key trick I still use is to ask for extra chilli in the burger, and get a combined chilli-prego sauce on the side for the chips. The chilli used to be really strong, but they’ve softened it up a little bit. Their prego is also a bit hit and miss now, with the mix being a bit off balance at times. Otherwise the burgers are mostly the same..
Ol was once an old favourite of mine so I decided a revisit was long overdue. To my dismay, the burgers just weren’t the same as they used to be. The sauce didn’t pack the same punch, and the abundance of lettuce did not help. On top of this, the burgers just didn’t seem as greasy as they were back in their heyday – although some may find this preferable. In my opinion there are definitely better alternatives available in the area.
Got the portuguese style chicken, which was dry and not fresh at all. Ended up throwing most of it. Had no flavour. The chips felt old and reheated. The burger was ok. Doubt I’m heading back again. Ogalo next door might be a better idea.
Ole is the sole reason I decided to stay living in Kensington and commute to work 2 hours per day. It’s burgers are tender and juicy with the perfect balance of crunch and succulent chicken. On late nights home on the train the thought of ole sustains me.
Best burger in Sydney!. Came here for lunch today and was amazed at how good the food was. I had the prego burger along with chips, which were both delicious. This was one of the best burgers I have ever had in Sydney. The service was equally good, if not better. Istrongly recommend this place to everyone.
Best Burgers with the nicest manager. This place has the best chicken burgers and I’ve eaten a lot of chicken burgers. The service is very good and I see all customers leave satisfied. Hot Ole and Prego burgers are the bomb.
Back to ole again today, burgers still good, the chips really really need to try, it’s crunchy and fresh, by the way, the sauces are great with chips on the side. Friendly staffs with great service. My friends and I has been eating in ole for 7 years already, we have to say, ole is the best taste in eastern suburb! Amazing place!
