This place certainly isn’t horrible but it is definitely not great. The restaurant has so much potential, unfortunately I don’t think enough has gone into the food. To begin with the satay sauce they use in their dishes taste like it is store bought. It’s a very light sauce with no authenticity. The chicken in the satay chicken skewers were cooked perfectly, it’s just a shame about the sauce. The lamb massaman curry, was average. The lamb was over cooked and the curry sauce needed to be more balanced. It was very sweet, there was no salty or sour element. The papaya salad with prawns was below average. The prawns looked beautiful, however they were limp and soft. The actual papaya was also soft. I’m assuming this is marinated in juices all day long? There were no significant elements of texture. Usually a papaya salad comes with whole peanuts to add some crunch. The freshest thing in the actual dish was the mint leaves. The roti breads were give or take. A roti is all about the way the dough is worked. These ones were fried, over crunchy and not that enjoyable. In saying that, the staff were lovely and the meals all came out efficiently. The flavours definitely need to be worked on because this restaurant has so much potential.
Ordered takeaway from Mahsuri Thai for our family dinner, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The meals were fresh and delicious, and the service was quick as it was an early dinner order on a week night. Certainly recommend this place if you’re looking for an easy, satisfying takeaway meal mid week.
Arrived for our 7.30 booking at about 7.20 .Ordered drinks straight away and it took 30 minutes! As our drinks arrived we ordered our entree and mains and didn’t eat out mains until 9pm!! By this time you could imagine we were a little bit fed up with the wait and our appetite had decreased. The young waitress basically plonked the tom yum soup in the corner of the table and said ‘it’s hot’ (instead of placing it in front of my partner who was having it) and then when served the main dishes didn’t think to bring out a plate to put our main meal and rice on. My father in law’s curry was cold and for the rest of the food .. well it was quite average. This was our second time here and probably the last. We spent close to $300 on cocktails, wine, entrees and main & wish we went elsewhere. Improve your service as this certainly isn’t good enough!!
One of the worst experiences that you can suffer you will be ignored it will take 15 to 20 minutes to get some water and after an hour and a half you’ll just give up and go home Two tables walked out and the rest were still waitingThey don’t care because there’s another tourist coming in the door in five minutes time. The thing is we are locals so we’re probably going to tell everybody
Very busy Saturday night so make sure you order an entree because the mains will take a while but it’s worth the wait. Tuk tuk massaman curry and the duck and lycées were excellent wine is also well priced. Quite impressed. Well done.
