For an upstart they seem to be ticking all the boxes. It’s never easy when your across the way from a Campos location but to their credit the coffee is good and service reasonable.IMO opinion food needs work, if it’s one think I dislike is pre packaged croissants, muffins from off site bakery’s.
Visiting Maze is a daily ritual for the team, it’s our coffee oasis. Stumped for lunch today, two members of the team decide to take the plunge with trying some of Maze’s food. Today’s agenda? Sandwiches that cost $8 each.Chewsy crew Jenny gets the haloumi sandwich which comes with pesto and roasted capsicum. It’s a delicious enough mouthful to make our resident meat eater forget that she just picked the vegetarian option. For the price tag though it’s a little bit lacking, we think veggie sandwiches should be packed full with crazy colourful veggies.Chewsy crew Christine gets the chicken sandwich with chilli, swiss cheese and spinach. The chilli jam was a little overpowering and clumpy in some areas and while the menu listed macadamia aioli, we couldn’t taste any. We’re grateful for the bountiful sandwich though!A huge plus for both sandwiches however is the solid sourdough that is toasted to perfection, bringing some life to the flavours. We’re not in the biggest rush to come back to Maze for food but in a pinch, they’ll do.
