Been here a few times for lunch. Food is quite nice… a bit pricey but it’s a decent serving. Staff are nice but the first time I ate there we wait ages for our food to come out. Plenty of table, seating was comfy and it’s never crowded at lunch every time I’ve been. Not bad 🙂

It wasn’t too bad although having experienced $0.50 wings in another hotel venue in Brisbane, $1.50 is a little expensive. Also had the pulled pork burger with chips and that was good, not sure if it was worth $18 though but still tasty.* Update 11/3/2016Visited this place again and ordered a chicken schnitzel. To my shock my schnitzel had a chicken wing and bone attached to it. I thought schnitzels were breaded chicken fillets? The salad was a lazy man’s salad and looked like it was one-eighth of a lettuce head being cut. Wasn’t impressed at all with this. Won’t be ordering it again. Rating dropped from 3.0 to 2.5.
Ive tried Regent Hotels fare twice and my first meal recently was the grainge rump steak with fries, Ive since tried their nachos with pinto bean. The rump steak was fairly good. The thin-cut fries with a type of herbal salt went down well. The steak overall was OK as well but it seemed slightly dry although I did request medium to well done. The tortilla chips in the nachos were crispy and the beans were fresh. Overall it was a refreshing dish. I also managed to have a look at the Regent burger and it certainly looked good with a unique presentation. I was told that it tasted very nice.The interior is quite dark with dark wood furniture and decor but thats the pub or bistro style in many cases. It looked like how a pub or tavern from a previous century might look. The overall feel is quite relaxed though. Service was friendly enough.
Fall from grace. I used to come here often and get the $10 meals. I ate here recently and paid $19 for a schnitzel and drink. The drink was pretty good, as was the service. However, the schnitzel was obviously a frozen piece of factory made chicken cut from a stencil which was neither tasty nor well cooked – this is a terrible change from the old menu. Safe to say I won’t be coming back again.
Regent local. Great bar, nice food tho asked to leave because age seemed to matter with younger crowd- no reason giving. BEWARE of security Friday night 23/03/14. Regards local resident
Good after work drink & food. Grabbed a $9 steak ($11 with sauce) after work, decent value, nice atmosphere not too busy, nice sauce…needs a bigger bottled beer collection
Old meets new… Or rather pokie-playing-pensioners meets broke-uni-students. Good value pub grub ($5 steak back in the day, probably s nit steeper now). My top pick, chicken schnitzel & chops with mushroom sauce & a cold beer.
