This place needs to be rated higher. Despite its simple looking shop, it delivers good noodle soup. I didn’t know about this place till my husband discovered it while he was working in Burwood. (Yes they have more outlets now, Burwood and in Hurstville Train Station) So you get to choose anything would like to be included in your soup like meat, tofu, spam, sausage, vegetables and noodles. There is so much that you could choose from but you have to careful else you will be paying more. Once you are done with choosing the contents they weigh it, you pay then you wait while they cook it. They only one type of soup you can add chili if you want a spicier version. Their tofu is awesome. I mean I never knew there could be so much you can do with a tofu. I have two favorite kind the one with a mochi inside and cheese. Love it! Love it! The place can be crowded at night so best to have it for take away and enjoy the soup at home. The shop is located along Anzac Parade so parking will be difficult.
First and only Yang Guo malatang I’ve tried but it’s the best chain. Despite how simple and even low key it looks, Yang Guo offers an enormous range of things to put into your noodle soup. I always get beef, lamb and pork slices, bokchoy, enoki mushrooms and quail eggs. The soup on its own varies day to day in terms of the spice, but most people add extra spice to it. You just say what you want when you pay. It’s price is by weight and mine always comes to around $12/13 but I am ALWAYS satisfied. Sooooo good!! Will always come back especially in winter but be aware that there isn’t a lot of spacing. Yet to try their other locations
Stomachache after consuming the food. Made me wondering if the cutlery or the dish are clean. Meat and fish are kept under open area, anyone who stands near them could have contaminated the food. Not good idea for a proper restaurant!
