Overpriced food court quality trash. Not exactly gross but definitely forgettable. Sushi looks like i made it. The serving of rice was pitiful. Not eating from there ever again.
Too slow. Mediocre Japanese at best. Thin sashimi. Wouldn’t come back unless feels other options. 45 mins waiting for simple dinner. Nice people, service mediocre with language barrier an issue.
Tako is pretty close to Kogarah Railway station and offers a good Casual dining experience. Its quite a time since I had been there but that was my only tryst with Japanese Style Dining in Sydney Suburb. As the names of food are quite unique I can still remember the menu.We had1) Calamari2) Tempura Prawn3) Spring roll4)Teriyaki Chicken Roll.5) Chicken Karaage6) Teriyaki Chicken with Rice. The menu there was quite self explanatory and we never struggled to order.Tempura Prawn was what I liked the most.It was a simple and tasty starter. We can easily prepare that in our home. But to understand how good it should taste its better to try it first in a Japanese restaurant. For that what could be better than Tako.Teriyaki Chicken tasted pretty close to Satay Chicken.People who dislikes SOYA sauce may stay far from it.Instead you may go for Chicken Karaage. The SOYA is lesser in it.Went there with my elder brother and his family and all of us were happy while coming back home. For 3 of us the bill was under 100AUD.
Cheap eats but ingredients are quite concerning. Very cheap meals and apparently good value for money, but no faith in the ingredients that they use. This Japanese eatery is essentially owned by Chinese. The staff and chefs all speak in mandarin. Their food is not authentic Japanese. I have serious concerns about the origins of their ingredients. My wife and I stopped eating here after they served me some disgusting meat for the Teriyaki chicken set. Underneath the sauce, the meat was dry and tasteless, and had a very bizarre texture to it. We thought it could have been chicken that had been boiled in soup beforehand for some other purpose, and then ‘recycled’ as meat for the teriyaki chicken set, hence the loss of any kind of meat flavour. Another possibility might be that it was some very cheap unfresh meat bought from a supplier and simply covered with lots of teriyaki sauce. Either way it did not taste like chicken at all !We can still remember that horrifying lunch after three years and feel nauseated just thinking about it
Operated by viets, not authentic. Teriyaki chicken flawed. Just dont go.
Great food. Tako have just open another restaurant in cronullaGreat!!! Food was fresh, well presented and good value for moneyHighly recomended
The location is nice and accessible, but the sushi is overpriced and the rice dishes aren’t all that remarkable or even authentic Japanese. I won’t be coming back in a hurry.
