Ordered Nawabi plate for 2 and it came out it serves 4 for our appetite. The biryani was blasting with flavour. The masala in the rice was so yummy and not overpowered with the usual garam masala taste. It was just enough. The chicken was coined to perfection and it fell off from the bones. If you are craving for a biryani don’t think twice. But be prepared to wait as we waited for close to 30 minutes and the ambience is very poor with limited seats. The restaurant overall is lacking cleanliness as well. If these don’t bother you then give a try.
I would not even feed my pet what they offer. On top the quantity you get for the price you pay…seriously I have no idea how they are still surviving. Worst place you can go to eat and they should be investigated for their practice. Unfortunately could not give 0 ratings..should be negative all the way. AVOID AT ANY COST
While in Sydney, I was having a relentless craving for a good Hyderbadi Dum Biryani. After trying a few restaurants in Harris Park and Parramatta area which I will review separately when I get time, I was still not satisfied with the taste. My hunt continued and after asking a few people for some good Biryani places, I heard about Pista house in Lakemba and went there to try it out.The restaurant does not have an elaborate Menu, but they do well with the limited options they provide. We tried Chicken Dum Biryani and some Shahi Plate – it had jeera rice, beef fry and chicken 65. The food was definitely one of the tastiest Desi food in Sydney. They make proper Dum Biryani in a Deg/Big Pot/Bagona in bulk as it should be done and the individual orders are served from the Deg. The other desi restaurants I tried were Dosa Hut, Amravathi and Not just Curries in Harris Park/Parramatta area and will soon post reviews about them.
Go here if you are looking for the most authentic Hyderabadi Biryani you can get in the city , nothing else . Recommend for only takeaways as eat in is not an option . Quality might differ a bit depending on your time of visit
Best biryani and haleem in Sydney full stop. Not a place where you can take your girl unless you have reached a point of no return. Ideal place for friends to hangout. Even midnight you will be sure to get a good biryani. Place is seedy, neighbourhood is dodgy, service and cleanliness are non-existent but biryani is best I have had in Sydney so far. I prefer the Lakemba to the Auburn branch. Highy recommended. Just a word of warning quality depends on your luck on the day :)I went a few times later and it turned out be below average at best
It’s a hole in the wall that serves the best hyderbadi Haleem and Biriyani. It’s a must try. The thala hua gosh is great too. Reminds you of home.
