Its authentic Indonesian but its past its prime. I used to come here a lot with an Indo friend. I dont know how we managed to drive across town and actually eat so often, since the last 5 times Ive gone past, theyve been mysteriously closed 4 times and only once had a note saying that theyd be closed. This is a poor practice that Ive seen in a few traditional places and it can mean that the place is only really suitable for locals. And the time I finally get in for some food, they tell me that the rendang wont be ready til mid-arvo. So I have chicken curry (which I used to really like) and some veges. It wasnt as tasty and rich as it used to be and for $12, I didnt get a large amount of food. Ive been to Pondok Buyung in Kensington a few times lately and, compared to them, Warung Ita is more expensive for smaller servings and the food isnt as good.
