Clapping, dancing, singing and yes, even food. This atmosphere at this place makes it a gem on Norton st!The staff are friendly and super helpful, explaining the dishes in great detail. Nick, the owner, takes pride in his food. You can tell a lot of love has gone into it, both when you taste it and when he speaks about it.The lamb here is a must have. Delicious flakes just fall off the bone ready to melt in your mouth. The Greek salad is also great, I love that there is less of the leafy stuff and more of the goods, including generous portions of feta. The halloumi, octopus and galaktoboureko are also mouth watering favourites of mine.

So we thought wed better give it a try.Well the food was NO WHERE near as flavoursome, fresh and exciting as across the road. So we are sticking to our favourite peasant style Greek instead. Staff were pleasant, if you enjoy being called DARRRRRRLINGS five times in a sentence. We also were met with strong smokers stale breath from both staff who visited our table. Not a nice compliment to our meal.
Filema has something, which I would argue, that very few restaurants in Sydney have. You would literally have to travel all the way to the Islands of Greece to experience the genuine, charismatic, warm, entertaining level of true hospitality that Nick and his staff possess. Sure, any restaurant could probably learn to slow cook lamb (delicious), or put together an assortment of other mezze style dishes (also delicious), but you can’t just ‘learn’ how to be a tremendous host… that comes from the heart and soul.We’ll be back.
Myself and 9 friends dined here last night. We choose the set menu and were very impressed. The service was friendly we enjoyed the bantering with the team. Only down side was the entertainment. Just a little too loud
