The breads are amazing, Lahori food is their specialty so go for the Northern curries. Beautiful Tandoor Oven, highly recommend this place for a family dinner.
Been here a bunch of times. Food is exceptional. Kind of annoyed by my experience last night however. I booked a table for two via Dimmi and when I arrived they had no record of the booking. The waitress took it upon herself to prove the non-existence of our booking by presenting us with the handwritten booking register. Indeed, our booking was not recorded – and yet I was holding the Dimmi confirmation in my hand. The weirdest part was that the restaurant was half empty and she should have been ushering us through the door. In the end she gave us a table but it was just strange that she was insistent that the mistake wasn’t hers. Clearly, if they are going to sign up for an online app they need to check it. But…the food is delicious. My advice is to call if you want a table.
Surjits is this non descript on Parramatta Rd, near the Annandale hotel. It’s well known for their tender chicken, and my golly! It’s true and for once, lived up to the hype. The interior of the restaurant is pleasant and had traditional dining table and seating. The service is prompt and so was the food. However, the place echoes, and if you are trying to hold a conversation, it can be challenging at times.Despite all that, this place has to be the best Indian restaurant I have have had the pleasure dining at this far. The chicken Korma was absolutely delightful! Super tender, and melts in your mouth, their briyaani was yum despite the fact that, the lamb was was disappointingly dry. The portions are generous and what we ordered for 2: chicken korma, lamb briyaani and garlic naan was more than enough. Don’t forget they also bring out complimentary pappadum as soon as they seat you. We walked out extra full! The place is also reasonably priced for the quality food that is being served.
Brilliant decor full of cricket memoribilia. Food is full of authentic flavours. Great selection in the menu mist try their daals. One of the best tandoori rotis.
This is one of those gems that’s easy to bypass, so glad we finally got there. Everything we had was delicious, the standouts were the tandoori prawns, the goat curry and the best biryani I’ve ever had. Will absolutely go back, with more people so we can try more things.
Have been meaning to visit this restaurant for a while. Its situated on parramatta road near Johnston street. It was very busy when we arrived, we found out most people prebooked to ensure that had a seat on arrival, we waited 10 minutes. With some persistence we ordered quickly- we ordered pappadums ($3) butter chicken ($18) lamb korma ($16), and garlic man ($4.50) and one serving of rice($4). All was extremely delicious. We both loved the butter chicken for its freshness, and rich taste with a hint of spice & for me, the rice was surprising quality – light, fluffy, long grained rice with a sprinkle of saffron on the top grains.
Great service, decent price, chicken tikka was awesome…no complaints here! Thought the menu was really decent and lots to choose from, I would definitely go here again!
