After a busy day sightseeing around the area, we thought wed go and have a quiet drink at The Fairmont. Unfortunately the beautiful area overlooking the valley has been turned into a dining area, so we went to the bar upstairs and took a place by the window. I ordered a soda lime and bitters (designated driver) and Hubby order a Negrori. We were surprised when the barman (Levi) didnt know what a Negroni was or how to make it, nor did he attempt to ask a colleague as to how its made.We thought it was strange for a hotel of this caliber, with international guests, for a barman to not know how to make a Negroni.FYI:The Negroni cocktail is made of one part gin, one part vermouth rosso, and one part Campari, garnished with orange peel.Ingredients:1 oz (1 part) Gin, 1 oz (1 part) Campari, 1 oz (1 part) Sweet red VermouthPreparation:Stir into glass over ice, garnish with an orange peel and serve.

Such a stunning location, service was good! Unfortunately the meat for my meal was a little to dry for my liking, I told the server and he just brought my dish back out with gravy on it. I would go back again but would order something like the barramundi as that looked delicious! FYI – book in advance as some nights they were booked out

Wonderfully ambient with great service, Embers Bar is a great place to unwind for the night. As for the food, whilst the beef was delicious, the fish & chips was average. The pizza was nice but quite expensive at $14, and doesn’t come with kids drink or ice cream.

Great ambiance in the hotel certainly spills into this bar. It’s a surprisingly small, but cosy and has the cabin feel to it ( dunno how else to describe it).My partner and I ordered the pork meatballs with toasted ciabatta for tapas to share. Meatballs are a bit dry but the tomato sauce it’s…

Beautiful views as the resort is situated overlooking the valley. When we got there it was a chilly afternoon, so not going too far we decided to have a drink. We had a cappuccino and a hot chocolate and they were great, loved the little sugar stirrer that it’s served with.

Pretty average food. Really nice location great fire and views but the food could be sooo much better. Hopefully the refurbishment will improve it.

Dissappointing… small portions poor service. We booked at 815pm and did not get our table til almost 9as we were hungry and waiting for our table st the bar we asked if we could order our food at the bar so we can recieve it earlier when we do get our tablethey said no.. we thought that was really strange..they then said food comes out really which so we said ok we will wait we finally got our table but not the big table in front of the fire place place which was promised, not happythey offered us 4 glasses of champagne to make up for the wait so we appreciated thatNext, food came in 30 to 40 minutes minutes which is a long wait as they promised food will come out fastsalmon risotto-over cooked salmon. Risotto looked and tasted like plain porrige/congee . completely tasteless. It was about $27Duck salad and chicken ceasor salad could not go wrong so they were acceptablemost disappointing dish was the eye fillet $39 which on menu said it came with chips so we were expecting at least 1/4 plate of chips. It only came with 4 pieces of chips !!! We were so shocked…we then ordered a bowl of chips to compensate which was $9 for a bowl of maccas quality chipswe asked for aoli sauce to go with chips which they forgot about and didnt come til we almost finished our mealWanted to try dessert but did not want to be dissappointed furtherstaff were too busy to pay much attention to us but they did seem nice when we finally got their attentionoverall not recommended and will not be back unless no other options
