Been going here for years! Top trick Ive learnt from the owner himself is to grill your kimchi next to the meats so that it soaks in the juices – its so good. Lovely staff, cheap and AMAZING food, and a conforming atmosphere. What more can you ask for?
Looks a bit divey when its empty, but come 6.15 the place was packed with locals! Bibimbap was lovely (would have liked a bit more meat but thats ok!), my friends pork backbone soup was great too. Speedy service, quite friendly too.
Pork back bone stew ($14) was very flavoursome, the pork bones were a bit fiddly to eat, but meat was very tender and full of chewy ligaments. The marinated beef on hot pan ($13) had great bulgolgi flavour, perhaps a little oily though. Small but interesting range of side dishes, including a pickled zucchini dish, which was actually quite nice.Service was so so- male waiter who welcomed us at the front desk was attentive and helpful, but the female worker was aloof and didnt seem to pay attention to our multiple bids to get her attention.
