Loved everything about Eltham Vally Pantry. Service was great and food was even better. We had a nice table outside overlooking the pecan farm. It was so peaceful. Such a beautiful way to start your day.
This place is set on amazing grounds, especially when the leaves on the pecan trees are out. Unfortunately, that is where the good experience has ended for us. The staff seem stressed and one gets the impression that these people don’t have previous experience working in a busy hospitality environment. In addition, if you have a dog (it’s a dog-friendly cafe apparently) or walk-in on a weekend, one is promptly told that usually people book on weekends or if they have dogs (advertised nowhere) even if they have many free tables outside. Whilst the staff attempt a kind of politeness by offering a fake smile, one can’t help but feel a little unwelcome. We have tried about 4 times at this place because, being locals, we want it to be great. We want to be able to just drop in and grab a coffee stress free. But we won’t be trying again. It isn’t worth it, especially when Clunes cafe offers such a relaxed, friendly and community oriented experience just up the road.
Hidden Beauty. Holidaying in Ballina, recommended for rekaxng drive, nice brunch, great views and friendly staff and owner who showed us Pecan processing. Surprisng extra special visit. A little tricky to find but worth the effort. Exceeded expectations.
Lovely spot. Brilliant range of tasty lunch options incl. fresh seafood and lamb skewers. Range of German beer. And if you need more there’s the Pecan Cheesecake and impromptu cricket with the kids on the grass.
