I bought their 100% rye bread yesterday, and it was trulyexcellent. The gentleman who served me was helpful, fast, and very polite. I plan to try some of their other breads soon, and the coffee. The bread that is sold in most Australian supermarkets should not even be called bread, as the vast majorityofthis junkuses old ingredients (sometimes frozen for literally years), and is full of nasty stuff such as canola oil, tons of sugar and saltetc. We should support independent bakeries such as Brezel Bar because they are doing a great service, and their product is fantastic.
Good place to have a German snack. I am not a coffee drinker so I can’t say any thing about this. However the Chai tea is great. Will be back.
Incredibly good location to have a small casual outing. The brezels (which are like the German version of pizza bites) were very tasty and not too oily. The coffee wasn’t all that good – probably should have had a German beer instead – which stopped me from rating this higher.Fairly good value and lovely place overall!
Raspberry Quark. Excellent11 Apr, 2015Better than most coffee we’ve had in greater SYD area. Chocolate croissant was a bit dry but pastries in general ranged from very good to excellent, particularly the Raspberry Quark. Nice staff who want to get it right.
Fabulous coffee, awesome staff, amazing pastries. I love this place, come here nearly every day. The staff remember and are happy to cater for my unusual coffee orders. Everyone is friendly and happy and the cakes and pastries are to die for! The Brezel rolls are the best 🙂
Deeply disappointed. Dear Brezel BarBreaking news, not all of your customers are tourists; either from Sydney or backpackers from abroad. Some of us are local & eat in/shop in Manly daily. Last time I bought something in your shop I thought that your staff had attitude, your prices were higher than other shops nearby & that what I bought actually wasn’t all that nice. Not great, but one bad experience may just be unlucky.2nd time round; unfortunately same same; but worse. Arrogant, rude, dishonest staff (yes, you did try & rip us off). Pastries & cakes., to be charitable bland. To be blunt really disappointing. At $6 + each I was hoping for something great. What I got was day old boring, mostly made with the wrong flour & very poor baking. Oh yeah, the white sourdough was not white & was monumentally forgettable. Better off buying cakes & bread from the markets either in the Corso or at Frenchs Forest Markets.By the by we aren’t all used to your Germanic manners either. Thank you goes quite a way to assuaging disgruntled shoppers. Not a real issue because I won’t be shopping there again & will tell every one I know not to either.Really disappointed.
Delicious, freshly baked pastries, breads and cakes. The kids love the bretzels but my fav is the bretzel croissant! Gorgeous German breads too! Meticulously clean.
