Went here for lunch, ordered the seafood chowder which was delicious, good consistency and full of flavour. My family ordered the mixed grill and they enjoyed it. The service was pretty poor though, it was quite obvious that they were understaffed. I asked for a beer and waited almost 15 minutes for it. When I received it, three different waitresses came out with the same beer for me! Quite odd. Plates were left unattended after finishing our meals, even though I asked three times if they could clear the table. When asking for drinks, the waitress didnt seem to be familiar with the drinks menu at all, lots of I dont think we have that and Im not sure. Overall, great ambience as its right near the beach, but probably wouldnt come back again unless the service improves.
Who doesn’t like some fish and chips when at the beach. We opted for a sit down meal here instead of the takeaway version next door. A bit more pricey, but the service and the fact you can sit down at a table and eat is a worthy trade off. Ali got the grill fish lunch special, which was with the silver dory, not the most expensive fish, but still pretty soft, not fishy and cooked well. The fries were moorish, I ate them all, as well as the salad. My friends also enjoyed their meals, fish & chips, and salt & pepper squid. Solid quality meal.
