Could possibly be the best coffee in Manly… and believe me, the competition is fierce! A very casual little cafe on the beachfront in Manly where people line up to order! Not enough tables and seating to cater for the demands of the Rope customers but nobody is moving on. They obviously know about the tasty brew and the connection with the Belgrave Cartel lads! Many delicious breakfast options like the acai cartel bowl with Farmer Joe’s granola, bacon and eggs or a healthy juice or smoothie! Daily specials as well e.g. $10 Friday jaffle and a coffee! Yummy!

Good evening : )Earlier today, my partner & I, wandering through Manly, were desirous of a decent coffee & headed to your cafe, with a view (no pun intended) to fulfilling that need. I’d wanted to visit the Rope & Anchor, as I’d gathered good things. Certainly, no-one can fault the location, location, location, or the truly distinctive fitout which, I noted, happily, is thematically carried through in detail, right down to the variously illustrated takeaway cups. Full marks for that. The menu & food on display, at a glance, looked appetising, too. Unfortunately, the experience was let down by a barista that seemed incapable of saying, or unwilling to say, as much as hello, let alone eke out a hint of a smile. Nor were common courtesies such as thankyou on his lips. So, it was down to the coffee. One might even forgive such arrogance, if the coffee exceeds. But exceed it didn’t. Rather, it fell into the mire of mediocrity, as if location and ambience suffice. Of course, on the beachfront, in an historic, iconic property, they almost do. Almost. My long black was by no means bad: piping hot, reasonably heady and flavourful, but lacking crema. My partner’s cappuccino, however, was tepid and milky to the point coffee was hard to discern. All in all, deeply disappointing : (

You will be hard pressed to find better coffee and a better view of iconic manly beach than this sweet spot. Owners are a cheerful bunch of locals, who’s eye for detail is gold to whatever they touch. Love it.

Great coffee and smoothie place. I stopped a couple times for a coffee whilst staying in manly. Nice and string how I like it. Hubby found the smoothie a bit tasteless though…

Place is very cute! But staff is not very friendly, nit welcoming at all! I think australians get bored when they have to work and outside the wheater is good:)! Nice view but not the experience

I had Bircher muesli and fresh fruit. Delicious. Service was great.
