The gelato section of Fresh & Juicy was still open after dinner so we came here to satisfy our sweet tooth. Gelato selection was small and we chose the Mango Peach gelato which tasted similar to an icy Weis Bar and the lemon lime sorbet that tasted like frozen lemonade. Nothing special. Staff was also not so friendly and didn’t look too impressed when we asked to taste test some flavours. Wouldn’t return.
Fresh makes their chocolate milkshakes with vanilla ice cream, milk and chocolate syrup. The result is a poor tasting artificial milkshake. It would be better if Fresh simply mixed good quality chocolate ice cream and milk.
This juice bar is conveniently located near Maroubra beach, so after fun in the sun and some swimming, this place is a good choice, grabbing freshly squeezed juices or a milkshake can be satisfying after battling the crazy swell. I have tried their gelatos and it was nice, nothing outstanding but still yum. So this time around, I thought it was worth coming back and trying their milkshake after having fish and chips. I thought to myself, what the heck? You’ve already had fried food, why not continue the tradition. Ordered their caramel milkshake which was a bit of a disappointment. Hardly tasted the caramel but that was the least of it, if they are going to charge $6 for a shake, you could atleast use Peter’s vanilla ice cream instead of El cheapo homebrand. Felt slightly ripped off, and it’s not like you need to use that much ice cream! Oh well… I won’t be back for their milkshake any time soon.
Fresh and Juicy is an ideal place to visit after a day at the beach and if you are on a health kick. The service is good and the staff are friendly. The place is strewn with fresh fruit. You can order Fresh juice and smoothies. There are also a number of fresh healthy salad options. For $10 you can order a fresh juice and a small salad(not so small) I ordered the orange, water melon and pineapple juice which was super fresh and refreshing. For the salad I went with the barley and lentil aswell as the brown rice and quinoa. Both very fresh and tasty.Grab your goods to go and enjoy the beach. aroundtheclockfoodie.com
Friendly service! Really feel welcome here! I came here looking for a smoothie and some soft foods because of recently I can only kind of eat them after getting my wisdom teeth out. The acai smoothie was thick (well done) and not too sweet just the way I like it. They also used ripe bananas which is how you do it – un ripen bananas can cause digestion problems!The bananas were cheap and really ripe (spotty). The 2 x scoops of ice cream I got were mango (can’t go wrong) but wasn’t a fan of the passion fruit. I think it had way too much seeds in it!!!
