Visited this place for lunch, the place is your run of the mill Chinese restaurant. There were plenty of options to choose from. A cash only restaurant which is an inconvenience in this day and age, especially on this visit as I did not have any on me. I ordered the char teow kway, a dish I have been ordering a lot of lately. The meal itself was pretty underwhelming, greasy and lacking the chilli kick expected with this dish. aroundtheclockfoodie.com
Not impressed with the service. Order taken at 8pm, got my food at 835pm, they weren’t even that crowded on a Friday night. A couple of people who came in after got their food first, to which their excuse was to prioritise seated customers (apparently those who order takeaway are NOT their customers, wtf). I must be out of my bloody mind to eat here again. I have seen much more crowded places around the area with impeccable service, this place is a joke.Rage aside, the food is very average, but it is not that bad to be fair, I would rate it a bar higher than Kwok Master across the street. Just not the service, not the bloody service.Sayonara!
So, Saturday night with the family and my dad smoked out the house in an attempt at cooking steak and chips. What better excuse to run down for some quick, easy Chinese. We pull out the menu, order four dishes and are told it’ll be ready in 20 minutes. Not a problem, after all Saturdays are a busy night. I arrive thirthy five minutes after we ordered, to another apparent ten minute wait. I’ve now been standing by the door waiting for 25 minutes, funnily enough chatting with another family who have been waiting 15 minutes longer than me. This has given me plenty of time to repeatedly count the number of customers in the venue. Sixteen. Having eaten her previously, I know the food is OK. But worth well over an hour wait? No way.
The food was fresh – garlic prawns with veg & the standard side of rice. It wasn’t oily but nicely prepared and the staff were friendly. I don’t usually eat Asian but I’m glad I stopped in here.
Pretty good Chinese food. The daily soup has little msg. The lady boss is friendly and recommends well. Recommend most food on the menu and it’s pretty reasonably priced (economical). Servings are also generous.
Really great, cheap food. I go there all the time and have never had a problem. Quite cheap and very tasty. I recommend to anyone in the area.
