This joint has really gone down, and is now worse than before! Going there for a mid-week lunch for a colleague’s farewell, was quite the incorrect decision! I had ordered chicken schnitzel for $21, with extra for gravy. It was quite greasy and thin, with a lot of batter, without much chicken. The veges on the side tasted like something out of the freezer. It was an extremely disappointing experience; definitely the last time I ever eat here…

Great Bar service for bottled beverages and wine. Average cocktails at a very reasonable price. Terrible food at expensive prices. Food is dry & bland! Overpriced. Food service non-existent. Things missing from our order. Restaurant manager spilt gravy on my skirt – oil based and won’t come out.

Been here probably since I was a kid at the age of 6, because it’s so close to my house. Unfortunately never took pictures, but been there enough times to give it a faithful opinion for The Ranch Bistro since 2002. It used to be very good and popular on Sundays and Mondays (kids eat free on Sundays, and mums eat free on Mondays – I think they still have this promotion).Back in the early years, it was really good, used to order the kid’s meal all the time and for only about $10ish, you would get a free soft drink, fish and chips, and an ice cream sundae (there was often live entertainment, eg magicians, etc on the random Sunday). However, now and recently, having gone back, not as popular anymore. I go for the weekly promotion sometimes with my parents for the $10 dinner which includes steak, chips and a drink. The value is definitely there. The quality of the food has decreased however, but obviously that’s because of the cost cuts to some degree (and funnily, the quality is VERY variable, going on opposite ends on the spectrum depending mostly on your luck). You used to have waiters, but now you’re expected to get your dishes yourself. I still go sometimes, more out of convenience for a quick and cheap meal, but overall I feel the experience of The Ranch was not the same as a decade ago.

Average meals. If you’re comparing to an rsl / leagues club it’s not bad I guess. But the steak I had was pretty terrible – but it’s a good place to have a beer and the outdoor area is nice.

This place is a joke…The advertised courtesy bus is only running now and then when staff feels like, some Saturdays I got there with my excited children only to see that due to a function there was no jumping castle, Schnitzel on Schnitzelnight run out, they close the pub earlier and don’t run the courtesy bus…The food is okish, regular I’d say but somehow overpriced. Plus, I don’t know how many times they couldn’t keep their promise. I’ve tried it over and over again, thinking maybe it was just a bad day. I just didn’t want to accept because we live pretty close and it would be so great and convenient to have a good place nearby but now I gave up…I prefer going to a place that doesn’t advertise jumping castles, special deals or courtesy buses. At least you won’t get disappointed then…

I usually don’t write reviews but recently we had dinner at 2 different places and being in hospitality I saw major difference between them. The Ranch was once upon a time a place to be, but now this place is a disaster and has gradually lost it. The expensive food is not good enough, Staff don’t even know how to pour a beer and I think he was a Supervisor, don’t care anymore. Every time I visit have never again seen the same staff, this shows that how good the management is at retention. early this year heard that a Kid was running this place, and probably he has no skills or experience. He should undergo a basic training with an Asian restaurant or Green peppercorn. One thing I love going to Asian restaurants is their unconditional service and food. I have decided never ever again to eat at The Ranch. It is really hard to see how such a Landmark is going down the hill.

We have been coming here for a couple years and I think its gotten progressively worse… Being close to work its a easy choice for work groups but I think if it wasn’t located where it was it wouldn’t be popular… Food is often dry or precooked… Hope it lifts its game! It used to be much nicer…
