Discovered this small and quaint Thai restaurant in Meadowbank recently and it serves really good food! I noticed there are lots of takeaway orders too. We had the Hung Le, slow cooked pork with Thai north traditional chili paste which was really good. The chili basil jam and tomyum soup were winners too. This has become one of our fav takeaway shop when we don’t feel like cooking or going out to eat. Free delivery for orders over $30 theengineereats.com
Great Thai! Most places these days water down their curries but Trio Thai does not! I got the Massaman and it was thick and rich as how it should be!
Favourite local Thai place. Fast service, fresh ingredients, friendly staff and delicious. For takeaway orders, if you pay in cash they give you a discount. I’ve both eaten at the restaurant and ordered over the phone for pick up. The restaurant is small but clean and Thai decor is great.
A great local find… a small thai restaurant that offers byo and fresh crunchy vegetables in their dish..My go to would be the chicken hokkien noodle, green chicken curry, roast duck curry and stir fry crispy pork in chilli jam
I just ordered the panang curry and pineapple fried rice and i was so satisfied. Its sodifficult to find a nice Thai restaurant as they are everywhere in Sydney but i was pleasantly surprised.
The nicest thing I could say about Trio is that it’s ordinary. In fact, I’ve eaten better Thai at shopping centre food halls. I honestly don’t think I would bother eating here again because Sydney has too many Thai eateries to still discover, so why relive what you haven’t enjoy. For entrees we had the money bags which were perfectly fried but the filling was too sweet and way too much corn and pea. The fish cakes were the best but lacked kaffir lime leaf and not enough rice flour to give them that springy texture. The fail was the prawn dim-sim. Obviously a pre-purchased, frozen product made of rubbery imported prawns and worst of all, they stunk.I had the chilli basil beef which was pretty awful. What it lacked in basil leaf it made up for in chilli. I mean I was breathing fire at times. The meat was like ultra thin skirt or topside which dries out too much. My partner has the chicken pad thai which she said was tasteless.$50 for the lot is cheap, but if you don’t enjoy what you’re eating, even free would be too much.
Great thai! I had been here before ages ago and had a pleasant experience so knew it would be a good meal. The pad kee mao was delicious with a bit of fire to it mixed with strong flavours. Highly recommended. Papaya salad is always reliable and Trio’s was tasty without being incredible. Curry was nice, all the vegies used were fresh, however a little too sweet for my taste. Worth checking out.
