Decor is gorgeous and the sofa seats are extremely comfortable and relaxing! They have a two course offer of 45$ which is great ! The desserts are probably their best as they are extremely innovative! Always delicious. Their food presentation is beautiful and I always look forward to seeing it

Went here last night for dinner, spacious restaurant that was packed so we had to sit outside on the verandah. Food was brought out really quick, within 10 mins of us ordering. It was beautifully presented and had good portion sizes. I had the prawn linguini entree which was beautiful, and the seasonal greens as a side. We didn’t have a main but had dessert – chocolate fondant, which was delicious. The cocktails were nice too and well-priced at $14. Would definitely recommend and go back. Two entrees, two sides, two desserts and four cocktails came to $147.

We had the degustation menu on aweeknight which is excellent value. The food was nothing short of delicious, I loved every course and there was a substantial amount of food. The degustation was equal to some of the hatted restaurants I have dined at. The cocktails were also fantastic. The only negative is that it gets quite busy and the tables are in close proximity to each other. Overall, I highly recommendthis restaurant, it is one of the best in The Shire.

Rocksalt is quite a spacious restaurant, with a layout that means there are many different areas within this space to dine. Main dining areas to the sides, tables outside for alfresco, an upstairs level for functions and also a bar area, with cute little side tables for having a drink or two. Decor is modern and pleasant, and teamed with dim lighting, it makes for an intimate and relaxing atmosphere. The menu is straight to the point. Entrees for $22, mains for $33 and desserts for $15 with a few options for extra sides and cheese plates. They also have a midweek special – 2 courses for $44 which is really good value. The menu is well thought out and written, with a bit of everything to suit almost everyone, a nod to modern Australian cuisine. My salt and pepper squid on rocket salad was a great dish. The mixture of chilli, shallots and crisp onions tossed throughout the salad, took the dish to another level. Probably would have preferred if the squid had a little more ‘pepper’ and more of a batter on them, but despite this, it was still tasty and very tender. Our mains of salmon fillet on beetroot risotto and eye fillet steak and porcini mushroom and herb butter, were delicious. The salmon and steak were both perfectly cooked and everything on the plate worked well together. I have also made a mental note to return and try the crispy skinned pork belly or barramundi fillet with salsa and lemon butter. For dessert, we ordered the snickers bar to share. The salted caramel parfait was nice and light with a crumbly dacquoise cake base. It was nice up to a few (tea)spoonfuls, but then it just become overbearingly sweet, especially with the caramel coated peanuts on top. Needless to say, we were unable to finish dessert.Staff were really friendly and accommodating, even providing us with a complimentary dessert because it was a birthday dinner. I had such a lovely meal and left extremely full from the very generous servings. Great place for locals or simply a nice dinner, away from the hustle and bustle of the usual locations.

Awesome food and service just a pity about the cobwebs. Would recommend any of the items on the menu as I’ve tried just about all of them but ask for a table downstairs (to avoid the cobwebs) and go weekday evening forget Thurs-Sun nights

Just Average Food for the price Nothing Special. It was the same menu it has been for years. I would have expected a change. Good quality Bistro food

On a plus the menu is well written and described nicely. However the food doesn’t deliver to those descriptions. On top of that, service is rude and I could hear swearing from the kitchen which is really not nice when you’re trying to have a relaxing dinner out
