Actual rating: 3.5Saffron is located in a nondescript row of shops just a few minutes walk from the train station. However don’t be fooled by its plain exterior, there is delicious Persian food to be found inside. The four of us shared the Saffron Special Kebab, a large platter of fluffy rice cooked with butter and barberries with grilled skewers of chicken, lamb backstrap (barg) and lamb mince (koobideh). We also ordered the shirazi, a simple cucumber salad with dried mint and the kashke bademjan, a smoky eggplant and whey dip. Everything was terrific and we hoovered up the food. Even the complimentary flat bread for the dips was so tasty. The lady who served us was very helpful and warm. Great spot, would recommend to anyone looking for an introduction to Persian food.
